WELCOME TO
CHERISH KIRKLAND
Kirkland, Washington
Who we are, Why & What we do
Cherish Kirkland is a non-partisan, centrist, grassroots coalition representing all 13 neighborhoods in Kirkland. We are neighbors—not ideologues—who believe that thoughtful, resident-informed planning leads to stronger, more livable communities.
We focus on translating policy speak into local impacts, so that residents can understand how decisions made at the city and state levels affect our streets, schools, services, and daily lives.
We aim to support sustainable growth without compromising the character of our neighborhoods or the essential services we all depend on. We are here to advocate for pragmatic solutions to complex problems—solutions that protect Kirkland’s future while doing the least harm to current residents and incorporating all voices at the table.
In recent years, representation in local government has become too closely aligned with ideological echo chambers. Cherish Kirkland is not another ideological group—we exist to break that cycle. We believe that real representation starts with transparency: helping residents understand not just policy outcomes, but the processes and behind-the-scenes relationships that drive those decisions. When decisions are made without a full range of community perspectives, the public’s voice gets lost. We’re here to help restore that balance.
We are:
Neighbors, parents, professionals, property owners and renters, and dedicated community volunteers
Committed to transparency, balance, and local business and resident input
Grounded in the housing values of Protect, Preserve, and Produce
Our mission:
To ensure that Kirkland’s growth is guided by practical, non-ideological policies, community feedback, and a commitment to keeping Kirkland livable for generations to come.
What we do:
